Actually, for a long time I had know idea why friday the 13th is considered unlucky.
and so, i went to wikipedia and typed in Friday the 13th. the article was really quite amusing.
"A Friday occurring on the 13th day of any month is considered to be a day of bad luck in English, German, Polish and Portuguese-speaking cultures around the globe. Similar superstitions exist in some other traditions. In Greece or Spain, for example, Tuesday the 13th takes the same role. The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia (a word that is derived from the concatenation of the Greek words Παρασκευή, δεκατρείς, and φοβία, meaning Friday, thirteen, and phobia respectively; alternative spellings include paraskevodekatriaphobia or paraskevidekatriaphobia) or friggatriskaidekaphobia, and is a specialized form of triskaidekaphobia, a phobia (fear) of the number thirteen."
the underlined part is especially funny.I had really no idea people were scared of um. fridays -.- but in actual fact, today was such a great day! and ironically, it was really lucky as well. first thing in the morning, we had double free period because ms tok didnt come. then later on, we had photo taking which was really funny :] and after school, my broken locker got fixed thanks to some sec 4 girl who helped me punch my locker. and i was very happy in school too. especially during comp studies.
I guess the significance of friday the thirteenth has worn off.
